STROKKUR:
- Location: beside the Hvítá River, southwest part of the country and east of Reykjavík.
- Eruption: once every 6 to 8 minutes, usual height is 15–20 meters and sometimes erupt up to 40 meters high.



PINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK:
- Location: Southwestern Iceland, about 40km northeast of Reykjavik.
- Area: 9,270ha.
- 2004: Designated as World Heritage Site.




DJUPALONSSANDUR:
- Location: Sandy beach and bay on foot of Snæfellsjökull.
- History: Formerly home to sixty fishing boats and one of the most prolific fishing villages on the Snæfellsnes peninsula.


SKOGAFOSS:
- Location: Sandy beach and bay on foot of Snæfellsjökull.
- Brief: One of the biggest waterfalls in the country with an impressive curtain of glacier melt coming directly from two mountains. The falls now sit about 5 kilometers back from the sea, millions of gallons of glacial melt-water used to cascade over the cliff directly into the sea.
- Dimension: 25 metres width and 60 metres height.
- Filming: The waterfall was a location for the filming of the Marvel Studios film Thor, The Dark World.
- Distance: 20 kilometers from Seljalandsfoss.
- 2010: the area suffered badly under the ash from the Eyjafjallajökull’s eruption.

SELJALANDSFOSS:
- Location: South Region in Iceland and part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull.
- Height: Drops 60 meters.
- Unique: One of the interesting things about this waterfall is that visitors can walk behind the waterfall into a small cave.

GULLFOSS:
- Location: In the canyon of the Hvita River in southwest Iceland.
- Height: 32 meter.
