SOUTH AFRICA (19/02/14 – 26/02/14) &(01/03/14 – 02/03/14)
THE WESTIN CAPE TOWN (19/02/14 – 23/02/14):
The Westin Cape Town is a 5-star hotel with a wide range of modern luxuries located in the capital’s cultural centre near to the Waterfront.
Upon our arrival after our long flight from Singapore, we were greeted with a warm reception at the hotel lobby. The staffs at the hotel are the friendliest of people – service and smile are the personal touches you will experience the moment you lay the foot into The Westin Cape Town.
Shortly after, we checked into Room 528 which is modern, spacious and clean.

AQUILA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE (21/02/14):
- Aquila Private Game Reserve is about a 2 hour drive from Cape Town passing through beautiful mountains and vineyards of the Hex River Valley.
- The 4500 ha game reserve houses the Big Five – African Lion, African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, African Leopard and Rhinoceros.
Our guide drove us using a semi-covered safari vehicle and reminded us to keep quiet and plant our limbs inside the jeep at all times.
Zebra prints in black and white against the backdrops of the safari looks so unique but at the same time also attracts wild attention easily. These zebras are basking in the sun, flipping their ears and tails – safe from all the wild predators.

Rhinoceros are constantly threatened by poachers who will cut off their horns and resell them in the black market. These rhinos are kept safe in the game reserve. The white rhinos are taller than the black ones, have bigger head and comes with bigger hump on the back.
Elephant symbolizes pillar of strength, yet they are able to move around gracefully. The African elephants are more wrinkled than the Indian elephants.

Africa is famed for canned hunting where animals are put in a large confined area for “trophy hunters” to kill them. These lions are held in separate fenced section in the safari reserve, as such they are not cultivated with the carnivorous skills to survive in the wilderness. They are cared for by the staffs from Aquila.
